Hedegaard is no Terry Jones

Reader comment on item: [Defending Lars Hedegaard:] "A Stew of Anti-Muslim Bile and Conspiracy-Laden Forecasts"

Submitted by Edward Cline (United States), Mar 7, 2013 at 13:10

While I think it's a waste of time to inveigh against the New York Times for being so obviously blinkered and biased when it comes to Islamic jihad – the paper isn't going to change or be shamed into seeing a truth its staff refuses to acknowledge or see – articles such as this one are a quantum of justice leveled at the likes of Andrew Higgins.

Higgins ignores the curricula vitae of Lars Hedegaard, so well described by Mr. Pipes here, and prefers to dismiss Hedegaard as just another knock-off of Terry Jones, who has the intellectual acumen of B.T. Barnum and is basically a publicity-seeking showman. Hedegaard has done yeoman's scholarly work to reveal the perils of Islam and the consequences of its ongoing conquest of Denmark and the rest of Europe, and that work has come with the risk of imprisonment, fines, and death threats and attempts on his life. I also discuss Lars Hedegaard and the most recent attempt on his life in my column "Journalism's Jihad Against Journalists" on Rule of Reason, Family Security Matters, and other weblogs.
