Palestine's right to exist?

Reader comment on item: Which Way Will Abbas Go?

Submitted by Aaron Goldstein (United States), Jan 19, 2005 at 20:23

What a great question that opens your article: "There's some puzzlement about Mahmoud Abbas, the new chairman of the Palestinian Authority. Does he accept Israel's existence or want to destroy it?" The question needs to be turned around to the Israeli/Jewish right and to the author. Do you except Palestine's right to exist? I am afraid that the answer to these key questions is the same on both the Israeli and Paalestinian Right-wings: Neither accepts the other's right to exist.

Peace will come when these groups are marginalized – both must be stopped.
