Reader comment on item: Does Learning Arabic Prevent Moral Decay?

Submitted by Iftikhar Ahmad (United Kingdom), Feb 21, 2007 at 08:50

Salaam

British Muslims must be well versed in standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. Arabic is our religious language to perform Islamic rituals and recite and understand the Holy Quran. Urdu is the social and emotional language of the majority of the British Muslims from the sub-continent. Urdu will help the youth to keep in touch with their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of Urdu literature and poetry.
