Erik:

Democracy pre-supposes secularism ('Ulmania in Arabic). In Islam there is no place for secularsim (there is no equality of men and women and there is no equality of Muslims and non-Muslims) therefore you will never have an Islamic democracy as it would be an oxymoron.
