So Michael S; We are looking at the situation and based upon each of our perceptions, we see what America is experiencing; which is withdrawal........from reality.
When growing up, we learned (if we were paying attention) from the greatest generation (the Billy Graham generation) about what it took to keep from being swept into history's dust bin that power not obtained by Scriptural dispensation is power spent on judgment instead.
Those nations that did not do right by the nation of Israel were in fact used by Israel's Most High Regent to scourge the people of Abraham for disobedience before being sent to judgment for not loving the people that the Almighty loves.
Today, the world, and certain elements within the American political regime, have not yet bent their knee to Israel's 'Anointed' (Psalm 2) a circumstance for which the issues in the Middle East are being groomed. America's part in this is indeed precarious and if not fully corrected (which many hope Trump can compensate for...?), it will not go all that well for the pilgrim legacy.
Freedom, American style, is sent as a blessing for those who are intent on being obedient to the call of the LORD of the first Americans who understood what the opportunities were in this new found land. But what does Scripture say about making the wrong choice in freedom: there are consequences. For the believer who does not get it right-chastisement. For the non-believer, well they cannot respond appropriately to what they do not believe. They will no longer have the freedom to do so: it is part of the judgment.
