I remember an Egyptian wrote ages ago about displaced Syrians working hard in Egypt.
This was before the tsunami to Europe.
They did the maths and realised they can go to Egypt and earn peanuts, or go to Germany and earn more money in one or two months of not working than they could earn in one year of working hard in Egypt.

Europe pretends they're coming because they love Europe. Or because Turkey is somehow pushing them out. No. It's Europe sucking them in by offering anyone who makes it a massive financial reward.
