If true, the situation you site is regrettable -- it shows a lack of understanding in the New York Police Department.

I understand that Islam is in error, and not shy about saying as much. That is because I believe Torah is correct; and it's impossible to follow Torah AND Islam, because Islam denied the truth of Torah. -- whether that's Islam, Radical Islam, Islamism or Isalami Baloney
