The leftist mind (and brain)

Scientific research should be done to understand how people make political choices, particularly when it comes to left or right wing thinking. Many factors affect the choices we make. Brian functioning (using the left or right parts of the brain), genetic dispositions, psychological profiles, cultural and educational (philosophical) backgrounds have all a great deal to do with world views and political choices.

Why is a person a "collectivist" or an "individualist". Which part of the brain is activated when we make these choices. Why does a person feels he is a victim of circumstances or the master of their fate. Why is a person jealous of the success of others. What philosophical and cultural teachings are given at an early age. The approach to these fundamentals determine whether one turns to big government or the free market and individual creativity and responsibility to address human problems,

The success of Capitalism, individual rights and free markets around the world in creating the greatest era of peace and prosperity suggests that the left wing approach is flawed or at least not what is required in our time.
