No Thank You, Palestinian AuthorityReader comment on item: "The Hell of Israel Is Better than the Paradise of Arafat" Submitted by Yonason (United States), Apr 18, 2005 at 14:48 I remember an incident back at the beginning of the present "Palestinian" Arab war against us. It was shortly after Yom Kippur in 2000, when several members of our synagogue returned from a trip to Israel. They recounted how the Arabs of Jerusalem were collecting signatures to petition the Israeli Government NOT to give control of "East Jerusalem" to Arafat and his gunmen.I remember thinking, "Now THAT is the act of some very brave individuals!" After all, if the P.A. is ever given authority over them (G-d forbid), that petition would become their death-warrant. And, given the inability of sane people to prevail over the Israeli Left on almost any matter, the potential futility of their act only serves to highlight their courage. Those are Arabs for whom I have great respect. I also can't help feeling bad for those already under the authority of the ghouls of Gaza and Ramallah, etc., whose lives are so embittered because of the failed policies of the Israeli Left. And I am especially embarrassed and ashamed of how our leaders abandon them to their fate, especially when they risk their lives to help us. (www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=79711) They, and hopefully also we, deserve better.
