MILTARY IN POWERReader comment on item: Are Egypt's Islamists Heading for a Fall? Submitted by JACQUES HADIDA (United States), Feb 17, 2012 at 15:59 Reading your article about Egypt's situation made me wonder if at one time a military run country has ever been successful. We have seen Argentina and Chile, we are seeing Myanmar. We now have an almost Pakistan. Are these people better off? Is it not time soldiers understand that they are not politicians? Having the power is one thing, running a country is another. And yet, greed for more power always takes over. Sadly however, countries are run by lawyers instead of economists, only because lawyers are good at how to fool people, thinking they know all the rules JACQUES HADIDA Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
