Freedom of speech
Reader comment on item: [Douglas Card and] My Day in Court

Submitted by Robert Klein (United States), Dec 7, 2004 at 10:12

I am writing to say how much I appreciate Mr. Pipes for his outspokenness in support of the democracy of Israel... He is one of very few who speak out against anti-Israel bias and overt and more subtle versions of anti-semitic acts and words. I read his articles regularly which eloquently work to expose how anti-Jewish sentiment is operating in this country and beyond. College campuses, it now seems, are fertile ground for expressing hate against Israel. This is supposed to be okay as it is not really against Jews in general. Mr. Pipes exposes this lie again and again. By his willingness to fight law suits like the one with Douglas Card, he proves that his writings are based on good research. If Mr. Card had a good case, which apparently he didn't, then he would have won instead of having to pay Mr. Pipes' legal fees. Lawsuits can be intimidating, but for a fighter of truth like Mr. Pipes it is all part of exposing the anti Israel and anti Jewish bias that is occurring in the world (hiding behind the claim of "free speech") with special emphasis on a breeding ground called the American college campus.

Thank you, your loyal reader, Rob Klein.
