These two laws do not reconcile.Reader comment on item: A Christian Caught in Mecca; What Fate Awaits Him? Submitted by Abhi (United States), May 22, 2009 at 00:14 Dear Dr Pipes, I found the following two statements by two Islamic apologists on your site in one single day. I don't think they reconcile with each other: The first apologist said that Islam should not be judged based on Islamic countries. The second apologist said that foreigners should respect the rules of the Islamic countries. Combining the two, the recommendations becomes: respect the rules of the Islamic countries even when they are bad. Defending Islam at all costs forces people to defy all logic. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
