Reader comment on item: Violent Jihadis v. Lawful Jihadis

The penalty for leaving Islam is death. This 'authentic' Islamic law is a major flaw in the religion of peace. The discussion above is one major reason why. If a difference in a major interpretation of Islamic law exists, then the other side are apostates. Fighting them qualifies for Jihad. This is an oversimplification. However, it is a serious cause of internal violence.
