In the long run, I'm not convinced the historic truth mattersReader comment on item: Constructing a Counterfeit History of Jerusalem Submitted by Charles Martel (United States), Mar 13, 2008 at 12:50 It is obvious that the Bible's history is true and that Israel existed where stated, but I'm not convinced that objective reality matters as to history. (I HOPE it does, but I'm not convinced.) History isn't like a physical constant -- I'm not convinced that you can't rewrite it with no consequences as long as no one objects or knows better. Combine our collapsing education standards with corrupting Saudi money going to bought academics (e.g. John Esposito), and I actually see Moslems destroying true history over time and replacing it with Moslem falsehoods. Had Naziism lasted 14 centuries (and going strong, like Islam) I daresay a lot of the raw evidence of history (and of course its interpretation) would have radically changed to conform to (and confirm) Nazi assertions and assumptions.
