Reader comment on item: Radical Islam and the War on Terror

Submitted by jennifer solis (United States), Oct 18, 2007 at 15:24

It was very heartening to hear the respect with which Michigan University treated Dr. Pipes.

The audio is somewhat muddled and as the bits and pieces I could understand sound very interesting, as Dr. Pipes seemed to cover many different areas (history, motivation, solution, possible Democrization of Islam, what's worked and what hasn't), and the questions asked were applicable and intelligent, I hope that a manuscript of the event, if possible, will be provided.

Again, Dr. Pipes' talk seemed to cover a wide range, an over-view, of what we're all trying to learn.

One comment Dr. Pipes made: the slogan "War on Terror" is as applicable and specific as "War on Surprise Attacts" would have been after Pearl Harbor. Clever. -JS
