The Bible actually tells us that God does hate our traditions, etc....and yes, I do recall that the original use is murder, for it also says, "there is a time to kill". We may have to sometime for our own safety, or to save the life of another, and I am not sure I could do this, but, I am okay with self protection.

I like your opinion.

I am not religious. :O), but I could swear less,,thats written too !
