down fall of MusharrafReader comment on item: Islamists in the Courtroom Submitted by Imdad Ali (Pakistan), Jun 7, 2007 at 01:24 US being a sole super power did not play impartial and fair role to resolve outstanding issues to maintain his hegemony. US deliberately ignored UN on Iraq war, did not take world community into confidence on making nuclear deal with India, ostensibly avoided to engage Russia and China to in normalize relations in Eastern Europe and Asia and discredit weapon race and contain fundamentalism. US preferred to wage war on Islamic terrorists without taking main power into confidence and did not take initiative to start disarmament. And on other side, US still support dictatorship which is negation of US policies and lauding role of Musharraf is million dollar question. Whether he on shoulder of US strengthened his power or played significant role for US. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
