I can always count on ex-military guys to provide well researched comments, but I do have to take issue with one of your conclusions. While I must concur that killing POW's and, for that matter, innocent civilians, is a by-product of war, I have to take issue with what appears to me to kind off a justification of IDF killing POW's during the 6 Day War. The justification comes across as due to a matter of survival in which you state that in both 67 and 73 Israel was - in my words - hanging by the skin of their teeth. At no time during the YK or, even less, during the 6 Day War was Israel's existence threatened. While Egypt had initial success in crossing the Suez and establishing a well defended air umbrella in the immediate vicinity Egyptian forces never threatened to go beyond the western Sinai and engage the IDF in Israel. Less can be said of the Syrian and Iraqui attack in the Golan Heights.
Other than the small blemish mentioned I really enjoy reading ALL of your comments.
