The Soviets Six Day War - USS LibertyReader comment on item: The Soviets' Six-Day War Submitted by Davod (United States), Jun 3, 2007 at 08:57 Just maybe the attack on the Liberty could also be linked to the Soviets. What if one of the socialists in the Israeli government was in a position to know that the Liberty was a US spy ship and also be in a position to influence those who would order an attack. The attack could have soured Israeli/US relations for years. If the Israelis found out about this after the fact will not have divulged this. Better to be villified for attacking an ally than have it found out that an agent of influence caused the attack to happen.
