Reader comment on item: More on Those Alcohol-shy Taxi Drivers

Submitted by Mitch (United States), May 29, 2007 at 18:45

When I accept a job even at a private company or organization, I am asked to sign a document that I agree to support their rules and methods, unless illegal, to the best of my ability. Why isn't this simple and most reasonable request used here? A signed statement should be posted on the outside of cabs to the effect, "This cab driver agrees with all the rules and regulations of this airport and the municipalities of which it is a part, and pledges to uphold them all to the best of his/her ability." Signed - xxxxxxxxxx

I don't want to support Islamic overturning of America in any way shape or form. I also don't want to have to discriminate against ALL Moslems for the crimes of a few.

Any driver who has this legal and most reasonable signed statement prominently displayed on his vehicle should have his patronage encouraged. Those that refuse should be tossed out on their ears.

This problem should not be fixed piecemeal or left to fester, but rather tackled head-on in a direct, legal, expeditious, and citizen-enhancing way.

Moslem taxi drivers have a clear choice to make, it behooves us to as them to make it.
