the mistake count favors them by a long shotReader comment on item: Jihad in Jersey Submitted by sully (United States), May 28, 2007 at 14:05 Dr. Pipes, The recent would be Fort Dix bunch were caught because of one dumb mistake, but three of them were (still) illegally in the country because of something like 75 previous mistakes made by NJ police and our utterly incompetent federal system. Similarly, the first world trade center bombers were caught because of a stupid mistake, but they were in the country because of our stupid mistake in failing to realize that people who say they mean to kill us actually will kill us if they get the chance. Additionally, publicizing and taking comfort in their stupid mistakes is itself a mistake because it lets us typecast them as dumb arabs who can never win, much as the stereotype of Japanese as thick glasses wearing paper mache airplane people set the stage for Pearl Harbor and a lot of hard fought battles. The Mohammedans (literal - followers of the warlord Mohammed) can win all too easily, but only if we remain anesthetized and complacent out of overconfidence.
