Is it possible that some of us are getting "understanding and relating to the enemy" mixed up with "sympathizing with the enemy"?
I live in the U.S., and there is a lot that is disgusting to the senses. I and many others know that those things are often inflated by the media to appear as if they were commonplace; we do not all participate just because "it" is available, and in some places I'm sure the poeple are lied to, making it seem like Americans are all out for themselves. Close inspection in the mirror would reveal that those very people are all out for THEMSELVES. Projection is an effective tool.
My point is this; D'souza points out PERCEPTIONS of America. We are percieved often times like a bunch of vampires.
