ISRAEL AND PRO-ISRAELI GROUPS WEAK RE ACTIVISM, SPEAKING TOURS AND MEDIA
Reader comment on item: Interview with Daniel Pipes
in response to reader comment: Consistency Is One of Pipes' Strengths

Are Pro-Israeli groups so lame that they cannot on their own go to (or demand to be heard at) each and every city where the "Bilin" Committee appeared -- to de-bunk and present the truth?

Why would they just leave this to: "the typical American sense of fair play may come to surface when hosts ... portray only one side of an issue..." or

"...whatever support ... canceled out by involvement with groups such as the tours sponsors ... Hamas ... "

ADL "statements" are very limited in their reach.

Europeans have been totally swayed by the media-propaganda war. Without their support of the Palestinian "cause" this war would have long been over and Palestinians would have long been on their way to building a decent economy and way of life for their own people.

I blame the cause of the Palestinian "suffering" more on the Europeans and their "support" than I do on the Arabs and the Islamists. This is all due to an excellent media-propaganda campaign.

The Israelis have never taken this seriously enough.

On some level there seems to be the unrealistic belief that the truth is so obvious that it doesn't need reinforcement by massive media and outreach campaigns. If there is the "Big Lie" then there also has to be the "Big Truth" to defeat it.

Jimmy Carter says the American Press blah blah blah. What he says isn't true -- not true enough. Surely we saw CNN last summer where in almost every report, "Hezbollah said" and "Israel claimed." The Israelis were unprepared with "media" response whereas Hezbollah seemed to have had preparations for propaganda ready and in place.

What Carter means is that the American Press is not yet completely like that of Europe where lies replace the truth and the Israeli case is almost never presented.

So far, the US and its citizens have maintained support of the Israelis -- but more and more inroads are being made by the lies.

It will eventually infect the American population if this is not vigilantly and aggressively (and not just defensively) taken in hand by Israel and Pro-Israeli groups.
