What Pipes did not notice

What Pipes did not note in the quote from Ramadan was that a very strange claim was made about Arab Christians. They are apparently not to be regarded as fully fledged members of Arab culture if they are not Muslims.

It is this claim that is surprising and perhaps revealing, and certainly in line with many contemporary events in Egypt and the Arab world itself .
