Allrighty then, for the sake of all readers, and not in response to your post, Dhimmi, as I will not honor you, unless you finally admit that you were completely wrong in your profile about me.
For once - my numbers seem to be right in the ballpark. Took me all but 5 minutes to collect the data.
If you will, pay special attention to the fact that most of these figures base upon statistical data from around the year 2000., so one should add to these numbers about 2%/per year. ( growth estimates are at 2.9 %)
Now go ahead and dismiss them with a straight face.....
Question: How many muslims are there?
Muslim Population: There are almost 1.6 billion Muslims in the world. Most Muslims live outside of the Middle East. The majority of muslims live in Southeast Asia, then Africa, then Europe and all the other continents. There are a few million in the US.
Additional Info: Listen What the World says about the Fastest Growing Religion.
"Islam is the fastest-growing religion in America, a guide and pillar of stability for many of our people..." [HILLARY RODMAN CLINTON, Los Angeles Times, May 31, 1996, p.3]
Already more than a billion-people strong, Islam is the world's fastest-growing religion. [ABCNEWS, Abcnews.com]
Number of Muslims in the worldL(2000)
Estimates of the total number of Muslims in the world vary greatly:
0.700 billion or more, Barnes & Noble Encyclopedia 1993
0.817 billion, The Universal Almanac (1996)
0.951 billion, The Cambridge Factfinder (1993)
1.100 billion, The World Almanac (1997)
1.200 billion, CAIR (Council on American-Islamic relations)
At a level of 1.2 billion, they represent about 22% of the world's population. They are the second largest religion in the world. Only Christianity is larger, with 33% of the world's inhabitants.
Islam is growing about 2.9% per year. This is faster than the total world population which increases about 2.3% annually. It is thus attracting a progressively larger percentage of the world's population.
We also wanted to show that, by even taking data from General Sources, like CIA Fact Sheet, we can easily establish that fact that total Muslim Population in 2006 is 1.6 billion which is far greater than currently estimated 1.2 or 1.3 billion. Under general source section, we have taken all the datas from popular sources such as CIA Fact Sheet, HOLT,RINEHART & WINSTON etc.
Britannica Yearbook 1997 : 1.126B
CIA worlds fact Book: 1.902B
Michel C. Zala' estimate : 1.5B. - but I am not going to die on this hill. Feel free to argue with 1B Muslims globally.
Now go ahead and deliver a credible strategy to ban/deport/eradicate these people, while I am laughing all the way to the beach.
