better understanding IslamReader comment on item: Radical Islam vs. Civilization Submitted by Imdad Ali (Pakistan), Feb 27, 2007 at 06:32 It is biting reality that, West has impressed whole universe by advancing in the field of medical science, math, engineering and space, they played significant role to defeat communism and also took gigantic efforts to eradicate poverty, reduce environmental threats and improve the life standard of common people. It is also grim reality that first and Second World War started by West. Mostly people believe in Christianity even, Hitler too was Christian. Does it mean, Christianity is humanism ands incompatible with modernism? Genocide of Muslims in Bosnia cannot account in Christianity. Few hardliner are always there to exploit religion for personal gain. In fact, Islam is religion of peace; it is incumbent upon Muslims to save humanity from barbaric acts. Muslims laid the foundation of knowledge in every field and subsequently transferred to West in the form of renaissance. It is exigency of time to understand Islam. For time being, West should take off glasses of bigotry and partiality and pay heed to understand Islam and Holy prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him as prophet like Jesus. He was not a mythical hero as gods are depicted in Greek. He was apostle of God and Quran is holy book.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
