The God of Abraham and Free WillReader comment on item: The Bible's Role in American Support for Israel Submitted by Seamus MacNemi (United States), Feb 25, 2007 at 21:31 God gave us all the power to exercise free will in our life decisions but that does not nullify the law of consequences. Life is a matter of choices. Choose wisely and live well. Choose otherwise and your life will be hell. But who is to say what a wise choice is in any given circumstance? This is where our traditions come into play in our lives. Tradition is the recorded experience of thousands of generations of human life. Surely there is someting that could be learned from the past experiences of our ancestors. But we moderns in our wisdom have decided to dispense with the wisdom gained through experience and proceed blindly into the bleak realm of philosophy where anything can be rationalized and justified. What a pity Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
