A threat clearly identified and accurately framed is more easily countered with the direct, necessary application of force than blanket condemnations. The Japanese interned during WWII did not deserve their fate. We acted out of unreasonable fear. The same applies to resident Muslims as seem by non-Muslims in the West. To paraphrase TR, "speak softly, carry big sticks, and hit only the right people, hard, when necessary."
