Right...Reader comment on item: An Unveiling: Separate, but Acceptable? Submitted by eh (United States), Feb 17, 2007 at 20:48 Oh okay, right. Were offended by it, thats a bit of a long stretch. When i hear non muslims calling musims Muhammedians, i am immediately confused and think that they believe we worship the Holy Prophet. And rightly so, if you do a little research, you'll see that muslims were once called Muhammedians, by those who didnt know the religion, thinking we worshipped the Prophet(saw) instead Allah(swt). I figured you were of the kind as you seem particularly ignorant. That's a lame argument, whether we're suni, shi'ite, kurd or sufi we all call ourselves muslims, so it has nothing to do with the different sects. We call ourselves muslims, non-muslims call us muslims, why cant you? it just makes more sense and makes you seem a little more informed. Anyway that isn't even a common term. A Muslim is one who submits to God, that describes muslims a lot better thatn the term Muhammedian.
