Dear Frank,

Well, you presented a list and let me present one....

Palestine- Israel launches attacks and destroys hundreds of buildings and kills hundreds of palestinians(occurs on a regular basis).
Lebanon- Israel launches attacks and kills hundreds and thousands of innocent civilians there in the 1980s.
Vietnam- America bombs the nation to smithereens. Some cluster bombs are still active there.
Afghanistan- American sponsored jihad in the 80s and 90s did not fund a huge cache of weapons but also a lot of hate groups which took control of the country. Not to mention the misery the nation went through due to civil war. The after effects were felt in the neighbours as well, especially Pakistan(a country on the road to social welfare in the 70s).
Iraq- Saddam is in power in 1990s, so America decides to starve the people of Iraq. How difficult it is to launch a strategic strike against him and take him out(especially when America had complete control of Iraqi aerospace), not to mention the war he waged against Iran in 1980s with American support. Again people of Iraq are made to suffer.

Now to consider this, the oil cartel being in control of White House and suddenly oil prices shoot sky high and when there term is ending, its getting back to normal. There is something terribly wrong here and does not compute. There is a serious lack of common sense on the part of Americans to handle world issues or everything is being done on purpose. There is a lot of good in America. It had been a source of good for many many years. Now things like Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib have tarnished America's image forever.

One more thing, in all of the acts of terrorism you have mentioned, 90% of them did not involve the state with the exception of Iran(the Iranian revolution was opposed by the US of A). But all the crimes that have been perpetrated by America, the American state has been fully responsible. Still I would not condone killing of civilians by the other side. Its mentally sick to do the things these people have resorted to and it will take education and development to fight the menace of terrorism, as war would beget more hate and create more terrorists. Sorry for the long response.
