To Mo on Islam is for all

You write: "Islam is for all humanity and it is guidance for those who are muttaqeen (pious). I won't argue with you on this one."
Seriously Mo, if you believe the Koran, you would not be saying that. Because the Koran itself says messengers have been sent to all people and only when messengers who speak the local language are sent they will be believed. So unless you are an Arab Islam is not for you. Please read these verses carefully:
26:192-195 "Verily this is the revelation of the of the Universe, which the Trustworthy Spirit (Gabriel) has brought down upon thy heart,so thou mayest be one of warners, in clear Arabic language (bi lisanin arabiyyin mubinin)" .
41:44" If we had made it a Qu ran in some non-Arabic language (a'jamiyyan) they would say: Why are not its verses made intelligible? Is it non-Arabic (a jamiyyun) and Arabic (arabiyyun)? (i.e. non-Arabic revelation given to an Arabian prophet)".
After reading those verses don't you think you should revert back to the faith of your forebears?
You also wrote: "My arabic isn't great, but I can read and understand it the quranic text fairly ok, though my arabic isn't perfect, I have taken arabic classes from qualified people, ..."
Why are you torturing yourself trying to understand an alien language? Don't you think you are wasting your time when what you should be doing is looking around for God's message which has been sent in your own language as Allah claims he has done. Read 014:004 once again.
Could it be that you should now go back to Hinduism (you are Bangladeshi, I presume) the religion your ancestors were either hoodwinked or forced to relinquish? Nowhere in the Koran does it say that the Vedas are corrupted or that only parts of it are available.: We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom.
22:2" We have sent this down as an Arabic Koran (qur'anan arabiyyan) that you may undersrtand." : To every people (was sent) a messenger: when their messenger comes (before them), the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged. : Verily We have sent thee in truth, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner: and there never was a people, without a warner having lived among them (in the past).
