I have the point of view about this subject that if you substituted Mexicans for Islamists and just showed these immigrants as "only" terrorists, you would have the whole Latino culture on your back for such a portrayal.
Watching the show, I thought it was really unfair to portray Muslim characters in this fashion. All they needed was one scene, only one scene, with another Muslim neighbor that was shocked at the behavior of the "terrorist" and tried to intercede to no avail. That would have taken care of the objections.
Writers, pay attention !
