Terror will stop only when we hit the "incubator"

Reader comment on item: Are We Safer Than Nine Months Ago?

1) The unthinkable has happened. Impregnable fortress America has been breached. It has been demonstrated that America can be be attacked and grievous damage inflicted upon it. And the mechanism of such an attack is childishly simple and inexpensive. A few people enter the USA, legally, as tourists or students or whatever, and once inside, proceed to wreak havoc, death and destruction. And it may be prudent to assume that what we saw so far is like nothing in comparison of what is yet to come.

2) These acts are done by people whom we call "terrorists", a wild misnomer which we should correct. These people are not terrorists. These people are soldiers, soldiers in the army of an "obscure authority", that for some reason decided to launch a war upon the USA. The beauty of this arragement is that while the USA is hit and bleeds and suffers economic blows as well, this "obscure authority", the puller of strings and provider of funds and ideology and martyr soldiers, this "authority" sits back and twiddles it's thumbs in absolute safety. So why should it stop waging this war? It is aflush with petro-dollars, more money than it knows what to do with. Why should it stop waging a war without even the smallest risk to itself?

3) Can one stop these "soldiers" entering the USA, under innumerable pretexes and guises? I don't think one can. So is the USA safer than it was before? No. I do not think it is.

4) So will this terror never stop? It will stop only when we hit the "INCUBATOR" of this terror and ruthlessly destroy it. The brains, the sources of money, the very organism itself. The malignancy and it's infrasructure must be destroyed. As long as we concentrate solely on it's soldiers, the so called terrorists, we are fighting a losing battle.
