I would overlook the flippant tone of this item if not for the inaccuracy in a detail. While El al was publicly [if not privately - and this makes a difference, as those who know their halacha understand ] Shomer Shabbat, its profits did not decline, but rose. Economics is a notoriously inexact science; perhaps you would care to look more deeply into the consequences of the airline's past performance before you make assumptions about the future?

In the meantime, it's a bit disappointing that an original thinker like you falls into the same trap ...as your less professional colleagues, when writing about Jewish observance.

Thank you for the sharp, lucid aspects of your work.
