I don't know...Reader comment on item: James Baker's Terrible Iraq Report Submitted by Frank Shipley (United States), Dec 16, 2006 at 23:08 Baker's commission had no knowledge of the matters of whch they were supposed to recommend major changes to United States military and diplomatic policy, assumedly to the end of the Prsident actually changing to adopt their ideas. This commission had smart people on it, but the process was "bipartisan", not "expert." This is like the idea that if one can manage the business of a hot dog vendor bicycle-powered cart, then one is qualified to be CEO of General Motors. I don't think GM would have a hot dog guy run that huge conglomerate, and I hope Bush does not allow Baker Commission to run the war , the Pentagon, or the State Department.
