Daniel, I'm checking on your 1994 interview
"Looking Back on the Middle East: James A. Baker III" in Middle East Quarterly, September 1994
http://www.meforum.org/article/233

In remarkably bad, poorly articulated English, J.Baker's thoughts boil down to the following:
"I went to Yemen to try and get them to support the [anti-Iraq] coalition. I got turned down pretty summarily...But that doesn't mean you don't go there and try and bring them aboard."

Nothing changed in J.Baker world. He never met a dictator he didn't like. After all - they are all his past, current or potential clients.

"In my country there is problem,
And that problem is the Jew.
...
Throw the Jew down the well,
So my country can be free. So my country can be free!
...Then we have a big party."

Borat..sorry, J.Baker, has got to get his party! the guests are all invited, let's festivities begin - throw Israel down the well, so Carlisle Group can be free (to collect).

In his 1994 book "The Secret War Against The Jews" John Loftus, former federal prosecutor, dedicates the whole chapter to J.A.Baker. Here's some: "When Baker was being sworn in (as the Secretary of State), one of the White House aides commented humorously that every American secretary of state had left office hating the Israelis. Baker is supposed to have joked: "What if one started that way?"

"F-k the Jews, they don't vote for us anyway." Oh James, do not ever change!
