Probably happening elsewhere...just less "official"...

Reader comment on item: The 751 No-Go Zones of France

Submitted by J.S. (Canada), Nov 24, 2006 at 12:30

I happened to see a CBC report which, in part, dealt with Muslim non-integration. (The reporter was comdemnatory of the Dutch -- it was actually funny -- at the same time the reporter noted that a Dutch member of parliament required 24-hour protection, that's armed body guards due to daily death threats -- the reporter was visibly outraged that the Dutch would even consider "discriminatory", anti-Muslim legislation such as a test for potential immigrants (which would include viewing pictures of female nudes and homosexuals kissing).

Anyway, this "reporter" also went to Britain. He went via a train to a "British" immigrant community which was an area controlled by Muslims. He had walked only a few blocks when he was immediately approached by a group of Pakistani-attired youths...They were demanding to know what he wanted -- or explain why he was attempting to enter their turf. A conversation ensued -- one of the youths told the reporter flat-out that he wanted nothing what-so-ever to do with being "British" (being British apparently was an insult). He was a Pakistani Muslim first and foremost (even though he was born in Britain, a full citizen of Britain, etc.).

I concluded that certain areas in Britain are also "no-go" zones for non-Muslims. It's just not quite as official as it is in France.
