Reader comment on item: Saddam on death row

Submitted by David Goshen (Israel), Nov 11, 2006 at 16:46

The verdict against dictator Saddam Husein to death by hanging was expected from day one.The decision by Shiite Judges was a foregone conclusion & the case should have been heard by an independent court. There is no doubt that he was a brutal dictator & there is little doubt about his guilt. but one wonders about the guilt of the Iranian Leaders against their own people which goes completely unpunished eg The Key Children sent into minefields to their deaths & many other liquidations caried out by Shiites against Shiites the number of lives lost was far in excess of those attributed to Sad Hussein. but these are forgotten when hanging Saddam Heusein.

These crimes against humanity by Shiite Leaders will presumably only be punished when the Iranian People overthrow the present regime, or some foreign power comes to save the Iranian People.
