Islam and democracy enemies? Hardly!

I think Roy needs to do some homework. Check out Muslim countries in the area that are listed as republics and operate that way. Try Turkey - 98% Muslim - acting democracy since '85; Azerbaijian - mostly Shiite Muslims - democracy since '95...Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, et. al. Even Iran is listed as a republic though acting as a theocracy. My Iranian friends who still have family there and visit occasionally say the younger generation mostly ignore the theocrats and do their own thing. They believe it will be an acting democracy sooner than later...in a generation or two at the latest. A recent article in National Geographic listed few countries left in the world that aren't at least listed as republics. Democracy and Islam enemies? Evidence proves otherwise, unless my encyclopedia is just a bunch of lies! Democracy is irreversibly sweeping the world, regardless of race color or creed. It's just a matter of time.
