Reader comment on item: Letters to the editor: Jihad and the Professors

Submitted by Yosef Stern (Israel), Feb 6, 2003 at 10:02

In a letter to the editor in Commentary,THOMAS S. FERGUSON, Manhattan College ,Riverdale, New York wrote:

" In recent history, who has tried to prevent Muslims from performing their duties? ... and Israel, which until recently forbade Palestinians to make the hajj. "

I seem to remember that it was the Saudi authorities who prevented Israeli Arabs from the pilgrimage until recently. Am I mistaken?
