It's silly to look for a single "motivation" behind suicide killing. Probably there is a mix of a hundred: aggressiveness, hatred, desire for status, conformity to what your friends are doing, and (maybe) your understanding of what your holy book says. What earthly difference does it make to debate whether the holy book in fact supports it? Even if it didn't, the killers would say it did.
