While reading an interview Mr Pipes gave in April 2006, I was struck by his comment that OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM was a "sideshow" to the real war on terror. I would like to know how it is that he categorizes a war in which the United States Armed forces have sustained 20,000 casualties and counting....as a "sideshow."
OIF is the War on Terror now.

One elaboration: If U.S. forces went to war with North Korea, another "axis of evil" member state, I would also deny that this has to do with the war on terror. The war on terror for me is the war on radical Islam.
