Reader comment on item: Some News Items from Londonistan
in response to reader comment: My subjective view-point

Dear Octavio,

so now you show your true colours. You must have really hated living in London, surrounded by all those cultures which you secretly hated. Because of the actions of a minority, you hate all muslims. Well, is it ok for me to hate all christians because of David Koresh? Or Timothy McViegh? ... I don't hate all christians; the very idea is absurd and insulting. You remind me of that stupid right-wing commentator i had the misfortune of listening to when i was in the US recently, Bill Reilly on Fox TV. The Guardian is the problem? The BBC? Even if you disagree with their views, don't you think society should allow all voices to be heard?

As for the issue with the muslim cop, get your facts right, Bill. When told of his duty to help protect the Israeli embassy, the policeman in question told his superiors that he had family trapped in Lebanon during the recent war, and would the fact that he was of Lebanese origin pose a problem? HIS SUPERIORS DECIDED THAT IT MAY POSE A SECURITY RISK SO THEY TOOK HIM OFF THE ASSIGNMENT. HIS SUPERIORS, NOT HIMSELF. As usual, when it comes to muslims, even the BBC got it wrong first time, but the truth came out in a statement by the Metropolitan Police the next day.

And where did you get the idea that muslim women will be exempt from ID cards? What racist bubble are you living in?

So you don't like muslims. Well this is one muslim who was willing to engage in reasoned debate with you, but now, obviously i realise what a scared, shallow, misinformed individual you are. Frankly, i'm glad you left these shores, the country is better off without you. Of course you are entitled to your views, but so am i. That's the beauty of living here. I don't judge an entire race as you seem to have done. And no, i don't think God will forgive you,

regards, Raheel
