More specifically, who would replace them? Other Muslims with the same reservations about transporting alcohol? If Muslims do indeed make up three-fourths of cabbies at MSP airport, this raises the question of why that is the case. Taxi driving isn't a particularly glamorous or lucrative career, and it carries a host of responsibilities and regulations, but is it really one of those "jobs Americans won't do" that President Bush once spoke of? If that's so, the Metropolitan Airports Commission may be willling to compromise simply because it senses it has no choice, other than to severely downsize their taxi fleet for lack of enough cabbies who don't object to carrying alcohol.

This, of course, is the real drawback of the color-coding system, which doesn't do much good when there are no cabs of the right color available in a timely manner.
