Right to Dissent? or Fomenting Dissent?Reader comment on item: From the Halls of Academia Submitted by Rick Lasure (United States), Jan 1, 2003 at 09:51 The rebuttal from Professors Foner and Gilmore is typical liberal nonsense. Instead of admitting the truth that it is fashionable in our universities to trash and disparage everything American and Judeo-Christian, and supporting their positions with logic and reason, they resort to snide insults, make bizarre references to other conservative commentators, and finally accuse Daniel Pipes of trying to quash their democratic right to free speech. Whenever people have no position of substance, they always resort to crying "Freedom of Speech". No one has a problem with Foner and Gilmore having dissenting views, what we have a problem with is our tax dollars paying people with elitist mentalities to brainwash our children with the dogma of Anti-Americanism.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
