Reply to AzizReader comment on item: Are Today's Islamic Movements Compatible with Democracy? Submitted by S.Thiagarajan (India), Aug 20, 2006 at 02:10 20-08-06 The writer entertains fanciful hallucinations. No muslim majority country has sustained a democratic set up anywhere in the world. Islam is inherently violent and can not co exist with other religionists. Muslims will never unite; individual ambitions, tribal conflicts, mad ambitions for territorial expansion and the resultant wars between themselves are the natural checks and balances against the goal of muslim unity. I agree that if they wre united, it will be a great disaster and all the others will join to annihilate the religion itself, as a measure of self protection.
