Dahir IbrahimReader comment on item: The Islamist Rapist, the Prostitutes, and the Policewomen Submitted by Terry (Australia), Aug 17, 2006 at 19:18 Dear Daniel, I am not certain that you are correct in describing Islam as you have. Dahir Ibrahim sounds like a mentally sick man to me - perhaps he preaches Islam but does not practice it. I am not a scholar of the Islamic teachings but is this honestly what the Imam's are preaching - "Find the prostitutes and rape them"? - Perhaps they are indeed teaching this lesson and if so it would be in a similar vein to what takes place in the Jihad lesson. We hear about Islam preaching that Jihad means self improvement yet the students of Islam by their actions show us that the real message of Jihad is to kill as many infidels and Jews as possible (and not to worry if a Muslim gets blown away as then he is a martyr) On the theme of Islamic preaching I would like to comment that we need to read the ‘message' not the ‘words'. Sometimes people say YES but mean NO and visa versa. Islam preaches ‘self improvement' but teaches ‘violence' Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. Daniel Pipes replies: I did not refer to Islam but to Islamism; and I am suggesting that Ibrahim is practicing the debased version of its teachings. Comment on this item
