Surrender To Whom?

Reader comment on item: How Consequential Are 9/11 Conspiracy Theories?

Submitted by Thomas Quigan (United States), Aug 17, 2006 at 14:53

Dear Daniel:

You have posed a dilemma for my liberal anti-war friends. Just who do they surrender to? Their goal is to avoid being attacked but if they surrender to the "wrong" Islamists they're still in danger. Sufis, Wahabbis, Sunnis, Shia and who knows how many more sects would accept their surrender but how safe would they be?

Tom

Daniel Pipes replies:

Nicely put. And once the surrender is made, then the intra-Islamist fighting will begin.
