When you argue logically with me, I am more than happy to concede some points and understand your point of view, so thank you for taking the time to share it with me. In many respects I do not agree, but am willing to see your side of the opinion.
On the point of Islam as a peaceful religion I would like to quote Daniel Pipes on this, whose website and opinions we are arguing on. On 20 July 2002 he did in fact say: "it is a mistake to blame Islam (a relgion fourteen centuries old) for the evil that should be ascribed to militant Islam (a totalitarian ideaology less than a century old). The terrorism of Al-Qaeda, Hamas, the Iranian government, and other Islamists results from the ideas of such contemporary radicals as Osama bin Laden and Ayatollah Khomeini, not the Koran" and on the 24th of Januray 2003 said only seven out of eight Muslims are Islamists and fewer still are connected to terrorism".
And you are right, I do not have children and I understand your concerns for their safety. But I would like to think when I do have children they would not be persecuted in a reputedly liberal country because of race, religion or culture - maybe its left wing but that is my opinion of safety.
