Reader comment on item: From the Halls of Academia

Submitted by Irma Rochlin (United States), Dec 28, 2002 at 03:22

While working as a summer intern for Congressman Lehman in 1976, I reviewed an article by Senator Frank Church commenting on the money being poured into establishing chairs of Arab culture in universities and the use of these programs to spread anri-Israel and anti-Semitic info to influence foreign and domestic policy. Senator Church was then taregeted for defeat for re-election because of his outspoken views and opposition to the growing dependency on Arab monetary grants to universities.

Sen Church lost his election and a powerful voice and key committee assignments were lost. The battle for minds goes on as the use of more virulent and violent demonstrations escalates and now universities require study of Islam as required freshman reading in a whitewash of the more militant aspects of its teachings. The organized riots and hate we see spewing forth from colleges now have been a long time building as we glorify as freedom fighters, misled people fueled by hate with no regard for human life to destroy not only those they have been taught to hate but to sacrifice themselves as well.
